CHURCH HILL — A Hawkins County grandmother was arraigned Monday on one count of domestic assault stemming from her allegedly punching her 9-year-old grandson in the nose four-five times during an argument Thursday afternoon.

Lisa Renee Holt, 48, 929 Old Union Road, Church Hill, was arrested Thursday afternoon after Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Michael Godsey responded to a complaint of a juvenile being assaulted by his grandmother around 4:42 p.m.

Godsey stated in his report that he observed blood on the boy's lips and blood marks on his nose. The boy reportedly stated that his grandmother had punched him four-five times in the nose.

Holt told Godsey that her grandson was punching and kicking her and had slammed her head into the wall inside her mobile home. But Godsey stated that he didn't observe any marks or injuries on Holt.

"Lisa advised that she 'popped him' when he tried to leave the residence," Godsey stated in his report.

Holt was released on her own recognizance Monday afternoon following her arraignment in Hawkins County Sessions Court.

She is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court again on Oct. 1.
